How to connect ChatGPT to your company's meetings, email and calendar

ChatGPT does not know what happened in your meetings or inbox. Here is how to connect it to that context with an MCP app, in three steps.

To connect ChatGPT to your company's meetings, email and calendar, you add an app that exposes that data to ChatGPT through MCP, then sign in to it. With Nysa this is three steps and takes under 5 minutes.

By default, ChatGPT knows nothing about your company. It has not seen your calls, read your inbox, or looked at who is meeting whom. Here is how people usually fill that gap, and how to do it properly.

The three ways people try

Paste or upload

You copy a transcript or an email thread into the chat, or upload a file. It works for a single question. But you do the gathering every time, the context disappears with the chat, and nobody else's ChatGPT benefits.

Built-in memory and file uploads

ChatGPT can keep some notes about you and accept files in a chat or project. That helps with your own preferences and documents. It is not a feed of what your team said in meetings last week, and it does not update itself from your calendar.

Connect an app over MCP

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard that lets agents call outside tools. When ChatGPT is connected to a source over MCP, it can search that source whenever you ask, with no pasting. This is the approach that scales, because the source keeps itself current and ChatGPT just asks it.

What to check before you connect anything

A connection is only as good as what is behind it. Ask these questions:

  1. What does it hold? Meetings only, or also email and calendar?
  2. Does each answer cite its source? You want a quote, a date, and a link back to where it came from.
  3. Whose permissions apply? ChatGPT should see only what you can already see.
  4. Can it write as well as read? Useful agents add what they learn, such as updating a person's details.
  5. Who maintains it? If you have to babysit the pipeline, it will go stale.

How to connect ChatGPT to Nysa

Nysa turns a team's meetings, email and calendar into one shared brain. A notetaker joins the calls you choose as a visible participant. Gmail history is imported when you connect, and Google Calendar stays in sync. Nysa extracts facts with sources from all three, and ChatGPT reads them over MCP. Nysa supports Google accounts today.

You need a Nysa account in a Company workspace. Then:

  1. In ChatGPT, open Apps and search for Nysa.
  2. Select Connect and sign in with the Google account you use for Nysa.
  3. Start a new conversation. ChatGPT picks up the Nysa tools automatically.

If your company uses ChatGPT Business or Enterprise, an admin may need to approve the app first. The steps are also on the Connect ChatGPT page.

Codex users can add the same connection from the terminal:

codex mcp add nysa --url https://mcp.usenysa.com/mcp

What ChatGPT can do once connected

With Nysa connected, ChatGPT can:

  • Look up meeting history and who attended.
  • Find a person or company, see what Nysa knows about them, and update their details.
  • Search team knowledge drawn from meetings, email and calendar.
  • Manage your private notes.

ChatGPT sees only what your Nysa account can already see. Each request is audited, access ends immediately if you leave the workspace, and changes happen only when you ask for them.

First questions to try

Test with questions where the answer lives in a call or an inbox:

  • "Summarize everything we know about this account before my call."
  • "What did the customer say about the renewal, and when?"
  • "What is on my calendar this week with people outside the company?"

Each answer should name its source. If you get a confident answer with nothing behind it, treat it as unverified. Saved isn't searchable walks through a simple check.

When you use more than one agent

Many teams use ChatGPT alongside Claude, Cursor or Codex. Connect each one to the same source and they all work from the same facts; there is no need to rebuild context per tool. See how to give every agent on your team the same company context, or the Claude equivalent in how to give Claude your team's meeting context.

FAQ

Does ChatGPT read my whole inbox?

Through Nysa, ChatGPT sees only what your Nysa account can already see. Raw email stays private to its owner; teammates' agents get the facts drawn from it, not the messages.

Why can't I find Nysa in ChatGPT Apps?

Check that you have a Nysa account in a Company workspace. If your company is on ChatGPT Business or Enterprise, an admin may need to approve the app. For other issues, contact hello@usenysa.com.

Do I need a Google account?

Yes, today. Nysa supports Google accounts, so you sign in with the Google account you use for Nysa, and Gmail and Google Calendar are the supported email and calendar sources.
